Fish moths, or also commonly known as silverfish are known to be pests because of the damage they do to household goods such as books, clothes or any soft materials in the house. One does not usually come across these pests as they are nocturnal; therefore most of the damage done to your household goods is at night time. They are small, wingless insects that are usually found in dark, undisturbed areas such as basement or attics. Garages are also a popular place to find fish moths. The female fish moth lays up to 60 eggs which shows how quickly an infestation can occur.
